How to add Geo SCADA communication drivers that are not installed by default to an existing Server
Sometimes it is necessary to install extra communication drivers, the ones that are not installed by default. The most common scenario is when getting a new machine ready to host an application that was developed using legacy drivers, like Simple Modbus and Simple OPC Client, for example. Those drivers are not installed by default in recent Geo SCADA versions but are available to be selected and installed. The RealFLO extension driver is another example. Most of the time the customer will run the default "Full Install" and need to add communication drivers after that.
In order to add a driver to the Geo SCADA Server, shut down the server and run the installation:
Follow the installation wizard until you get to the following dialog box, then select “Modify”:
Expand the “Server” branch and navigate to the driver that needs to be installed, “Modbus Simple”, for example, select it to be installed and click on “Next”:
Proceed with the installation. Once the Geo SCADA Server is restarted, the “Simple Modbus” driver will be available.
