What does class S1 and S2 mean for a HV circuit breaker ?
IEC 62271‐100 defines two separate class according to the type of the system.

circuit-breaker class S1
circuit-breaker intended to be used in a cable system

circuit-breaker class S2
circuit-breaker used in a line-system

The type tests and the specifications are different if the circuit breaker is defined S1 or S2 class.
Our HV circuit breakers (LF,SF, Evolis, Easypact EXE) are S1 class
