Introduction

Currently, events and alarms on Smartlink I/O Channels are not supported by the PME driver. It means that no Event or Alarm is raised on the PME Web Application in case of I/O Status change on a Smartlink Channel.
This document will explain how to:
  • create Alarms under PME Web Application for Smartlink I/O Channels
  • trigger an event for Report Subscription

Create Alarm for Smartlink I/O Channel under Web Application

This section explains how to create a Software Alarm to warn the customer in case of any change on a Smartlink I/O Channel.
After implementing Software Alarming => the associated events will be available under the PME Event Log.
StepDescription
1Go under the Windows Services and restart “ION Application Modules Core Services Host” service. This will force the new created measurements available under the Web Application.
2Log in to the PME Web Application.
3Go under SETTINGS menu -> Configuration Tools -> Alarm Configuration and click on “Alarm Rule” button.
4Select the following template: User Defined -> Realtime Digital Setpoint

5Under “Available Measurements” go under the “Custom” folder and select the measurements related to the Smartlink I/O Channel. You can apply the “CH” filter if you have too many Measurements in the “Custom” folder.
If you want to create alarm only for I1 and I2, then do not select the Output. You will be able to create a separate alarm later for the Output.

6Gives a specific Alarm Name.
Choose an Active and Inactive Condition Label that fit with your application. See the example below.
Select also an Alarm Priority: 192 is the threshold for High Priority Alarm. You can choose a lower value.
Trigger will be “FALSE (equal to 0)” if the I1 or I2 of the I/O Channel is 0DC (Breaker Open).
7Select the sources to which the alarms will apply. You must have some Smartlink devices declared in the Management Console.
8Create a Schedule if necessary.
9Enter a Rule Name and click on “Finish” button.
10Check that the rule is enabled.
