• What are the different types of EV chargers available in Singapore?

  There are 2 main types of chargers: Alternating Current (AC – slow charging) and Direct Current (DC – fast charging).

  AC chargers are ideal for home charging and for buildings with limited power, serving customers who have more time to charge their cars as the charging time is approximately 6 – 8 hours.

  DC chargers are ideal for buildings and fleet applications, where vehicles need to be charged quickly, with an average charging time of 30 minutes – 1 hour.

• How do I determine the right EV charger for my specific needs?

  You should consider the following factors: clientele, vehicle type, charging frequency, location, power available and budget.

• What are the costs involved in installing an EV charger?

  Costs include: site assessment, pulling of cables and trenching work (if needed), installation, testing & commissioning, maintenance works, among others.

• What are the requirements for home charger installation?

  When installing a home charger, you will need to take note of the electrical wiring, permits, and safety considerations.

• How can EV charging solutions benefit my business or fleet?

  With the government mandate for all vehicles in Singapore running on cleaner energy by 2040, electrifying your fleet will not only allow you to enjoy the benefits of cost savings while achieving your decarbonisation goals, it will also ensure that your business is operating in line with government regulations.
• What is the cost of installing a charger?

  The costing is dependent on the site. We have a team of partners who will do a site survey and we will advise and quote accordingly.
• Is there a profit-sharing option?

  Yes, there is an option for that. We will discuss with you during the site survey as our partners will need to know the utilisation rate and location of charger (cabling), and the number of chargers.
• How reliable are the chargers?

  Schneider Electric EV chargers have been in the Singapore market since 2016 with over 1500 chargers installed. We also have <1% of failure rate recorded globally. Our clientele includes both commercial and residential clients.

  *Commercial clients include Sentosa Golf Club, Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Mandai Zoo and IKEA. Residential clients include DUO Residences, South Beach Residence, Poiz Residences.

• Who are your team and installers?

  We have selected teams who are trained and certified by Schneider Electric according to the highest safety standards. Our installers for EVlink provide safe, reliable, and quick installation of smart chargers for electric vehicle charging.
• Is your charger safe and compliant?

  EV chargers are compliant with international standards and certified CB Scheme UL and IEC. Schneider Electric chargers are also TR25:2016 and LNO compliant locally.
• How fast would the chargers be deployed?

  Schneider Electric EV installation partners provide fast installation – within 1 to 2 weeks upon site survey and approvals.
• How is the warranty and service like?

  We provide 2 years of warranty and extendable up to 5 years of factory warranty - one of the highest in the market.
• What car brands are compatible with Schneider Electric EVlink chargers?

  Schneider Electric EVlink chargers are compatible with all EV cars in Singapore, which includes brands like Mercedes – Benz, BMW, Porsche, Hyundai, Volvo, Audi
• How many chargers can I install with ECCG?

  The ECCG may co-fund the installation of smart chargers for up to 1% of residential car park lots, rounded-up to the nearest whole number.

  Example 1: If there are 140 car park lots in a NLPR, 1% of 140 =1.4, rounded-up to the nearest whole number to 2. This means that 2 chargers will be eligible for co-funding.

  Example 2: If there are 70 car park lots in an NLPR, 1% of 70 = 0.7, rounded-up to the nearest whole number to 1. This means that 1 charger will be eligible for co-funding.

  The ECCG is designed to catalyse deployment of chargers in as many NLPRs as possible. As such, the ECCG will only fund the installation of chargers for up to 1% of residential parking lots within each NLPR.

• Can I still apply for the grant if I already have existing EV chargers?

  Yes you can! However, LTA would prioritise applications of NLPRs with no existing EV chargers.
• Can I apply the grant for EV chargers that were installed before 19 Jul 2021?

  As the grant is meant to spur installation of new EV chargers, chargers installed before 19 Jul 2021 are not eligible for the grant.
• What are the cost items that are not eligible for claims?

  Items that are not directly required for the installation or operations of a charger are not eligible for claims.

  These include (but are not limited to): signages, repainting of carpark lots, electrical infrastructure upgrades, civil infrastructure, grid connection fee charged by SP PowerGrid (SPPG) from higher load intake etc.

• How do I apply for the grant?

  Interested parties may apply via the Government’s Business Grants Portal (BGP).

• What are the key compliance conditions for the ECCG?

  Upon request, the applicant must provide LTA with the energy consumption and charger utilisation information of the co-funded chargers, for a period of three years.
• What are the Items/Developments not eligible for funding?

  - Chargers that have been installed before 19 July 2021.
  - Carparks in mixed-used developments that are not exclusive to residents.
  - Installation of EV Chargers above 1% of the number of residential carpark lots.
  - Items that are not directly required for the installation or operations of a charger are not eligible for claims. These include (but are not limited to): signages, repainting of carpark lots, electrical infrastructure upgrades, civil infrastructure, grid connection fee charged by SP PowerGrid SPPG) from higher load intake etc.

• As an EV Charger owner, how does the EV Charging Act (EVCA) affect me?

  If you are operating EV Chargers that serve members of the public (e.g. condominium residents, office employees, commercial building users & visitors), your EV Chargers need to be operated by a licensed Charge Point Operator (CPO). You may choose to engage a third party CPO or apply to be a licensed CPO yourself.

• As a building developer, how does the EV Charging Act (EVCA) affect me?

  The EVCA mandates for passive or active provision of EV charging infrastructure in developments undergoing major building or electrical works.

  Passive provision refers to the supply of minimum power capacity of at least 1.3VA per car and motorcycle parking lot in the development.

  Active provision refers to the minimum installation of EV charging points that draw a total power of one-fifth of the passive provision required.

  *Example: for a carpark with 100 lots, passive provision = 1.3kVA x 100 x 0.85 = 110.5kW, active provision = 22.1kW
