Can a smaller rated Altivar drive unit be used on a motor?

Issue:
Wanting to use a smaller rated Altivar drive unit on a motor.

Cause:
Applying an underrated VFD to a motor

Resolution:
No.  The drive needs to be sized for the appropriate horsepower or full load amps of the motor. Using a drive on a higher rated motor is a misapplication.
