Issue:
Digital Multimeter reads higher voltage in the output voltage from the Altivar VFD than the actual voltage.
Product Line:
ATV12, ATV312, ATV630, ATV930, S-Flex, E-Flex, Altivar Drives
Environment:
All
Cause:
NA
Resolution:
Normally, a True-RMS Digital multimeter (DMM) will read about 20 to 30% higher output voltage than what the actual Output voltage is. The reason is that a standard True-RMS DMM cannot reliably filter out the PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) output waveform and High Frequency noise from the VFD. A DMM with a Low Pass filter can fix this issue and can measure the output voltage more accurately.
