Neutral position switches have two different sets of contacts in which one set of contacts changes state when the head is actuated one way and a second set of contacts will change state if the head is actuated in the opposite direction. Two stage switches also have independent contacts. One set of contacts changes state if the head moves in one direction, and with further head travel movement in the same direction, the other set of contacts will also change state.
