Resolution:
A resin filled surface-mounted Transformer can be mounted to a wall. Its enclosure design maintains UL and NEC spacing from the Tansformer to the wall. A ventilated Transformer must maintain clearance indicated on its label from any vertical surface. Either can be mounted into a recess provided that the proper clearances from the walls are maintained.
