How can we help you today?
On a multi-tap current transformer (CT), once the selected ratio is connected, is it necessary to short the unused terminals?
Issue:
Is shorting un used terminals required once the CT has been wired for the application?

Product Line:
Current transformers

Environment:
Class 4210 CT's

Resolution:
NO. The unused terminals must be left open. With multi-tap CTs, as long as there is a load/burden on the chosen ratio terminals of the unit, potentially hazardous voltages will not build up at the terminals.
