The manual link bypass that is supplied on some 300 and 400 A CSED device (indicated by a B in the catalog number suffix) consists of a threaded stud and keps nut on the line side and the load side bussing on each phase that will accept a utility company supplied jumper. With the manual bypass link jumper installed, the watt-hour meter can then be removed from the socket while maintaining continuity of the service to the residence.
