Video: What is the difference between the RSG4 (metal) and 29007 (plastic) meter socket closing plates and how do they install on a meter?

Article available in these languages: Spanish

Issue:
Installing Clear & Metal Meter Socket Closing Plates

Product Line:
Meter-Pak, Combination Service Entrance Devices, EZ Metering, Individual Meter sockets

Resolution:
The painted metal meter socket closing plate, catalog number RSG4, is used ONLY with ringless type meter covers and would be installed in a meter position that is not in service to prevent unauthorized power diversion and damage to the meter socket.

The Lexan (clear non-metallic) meter socket closing plate, catalog number 29007, is used with ring or ringless type meter covers and would be installed in a meter position that is not in service to prevent unauthorized power diversion and damage to the meter socket.

Please see the video below for installing installing clear (29007) and metal (RSG4) meter socket closing (blanking) plates into Meter-Pak, combination service entrance devices, EZ metering, and individual meter sockets, and understanding their differences.

NOTE: PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFETY INFORMATION THAT COME WITH THE CLOSING PLATES AND NEVER WORK ON ENERGIZED EQUIPMENT.
