Can the SDSA1175 surge arrestor be used in a main lug panel?
Issue:
Can the SDSA1175 surge arrestor be used in a main lug panel?
Product Line:
Surge Protection.
Environment:
Products sold in the United States.
Cause:
Product features.
Resolution:
Yes. Connect the two SDSA1175 black wires to a maximum 20 A 120/240 V two-pole circuit breaker, or two adjacent maximum 20 A 120 V single-pole circuit breakers within the panel. Connect the white wire to the neutral bar. For circuit breakers having terminals identified for multiple conductors, the SDSA1175 can be connected along side multiple loads, however, the tripping of this circuit breaker will cause the entire load center to lose surge protection. To enhance the performance of the SDSA1175, twist, bind and keep the conductor length as short as possible with no sharp bends. Do not loop or coil the wires.
