Issue:
Split Bus combinations available in product selectors
Product Line:
Panelboards
Environment:
NQ, NF, I-line
Cause:
Layout and application
Resolution:
Below is a written description of the split bus configurations available in product selectors. But, since everything is engineered to order, panel drawings are only available once the panel has been engineered. We can then match the drawings to the panel selected.
Split bus is available on NF and NQ Panels in four different configurations. The following conditions are:
1. Main Breaker/Contactor Split bus
2. Main Lug/Contactor split bus
3. Main Breaker split bus
4. Main Lug split bus
Each split section must have a main device. The main device may consist of a circuit breaker or Sub-Feed Lug kit.
Main Breaker/Contactor Split Bus:
In this case a Type NF or NQ Panelboards has a Main Breaker feeding the Main Split. The main feeds the Contactor which in turn feeds the Split. The Main section can have 18 circuits with the split having 30 circuits; or, the main section can be 30 with the split being 18 or 30 circuits.
Main Lug-Sub-Feed Lugs/Contactor Split Bus:
In this case a Type NF or NQ Panelboards has the Main Lugs feeding the Main Split. Sub-Feed Lugs in the main feeds the Contactor in the Split. The Main can have 18 circuits and the split can have 30 circuits; or, the Main can have 30 circuits and split can have 18 or 30 circuits.
Main Breaker-Split Bus:
In this case a Type NF or NQ Panelboards has the Main Breaker feeding the Main Split. The Main breaker in the main section feeds a main breaker in the split section which in turn feeds Spli. The Main section can have 18 circuits with the split having 30 circuits; or, the main section can have 30 circuits with the split having 18 or 30 circuits.
Main Lug-Split Bus:
In this case a Type I-line, NF or NQ Panelboards has the Main Lugs feeding the Main Split. The Main feeds the Main on the Split which in turn feeds the Split. The Main can have 18 circuits with the split having 30 circuits; or, the main can have 30 circuits and the split can have 18 or 30 circuits.
NOTE: *I-line split bus is only available with Main lugs*. Also, should you require a split that is not listed above, please contact your local Schneider Distributor or Schneider Sales Office to work directly with our Special TAG group. Not all applications can be built.
