Resolution:
The QOL225 main lug kit is ONLY used for the high amp, 150-225 A max, Homeline, Series S01, S02, and S04 and QO™, Series G01, G02, S01, S02, and S06 load centers.
DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM AMPERE RATING OF THE LOAD CENTER.
The QOL225 Main lug kit will accept (1) #6 - 300kcmil Al/Cu wire, BUT to find out the maximum wire size permitted in the particular load center per UL wire bending space, see either the wiring diagram on the load center enclosure or the tables in the current Square D Digest under the heading "Main wire size".
The attached video is ONLY to supplement the INSTRUCTIONS that come with the kit. PLEASE make sure to read the instructions and all the below Safety Information that is located in the instructions BEFORE working on any electrical equipment.
A PDF copy of the complete instructions is attached below the video.
Make sure to turn OFF ALL Power supplying the equipment and verify the power is OFF using a properly rated voltage sensing device, BEFORE working on or with electrical equipment.
1) Once all Safety steps are followed, begin the kit installation by following the instructions.
2) Remove Cover from load center.
3) Remove and discard two connector mounting nuts where the Main Breaker gets attached to the interior bus bars. Remove the interior mounting screw and discard, the remove the Main breaker, by removing the 'Lip' of the main breaker casing from under the retention tab of the interior base. See the illustration at the bottom of page 2 of the instructions.
4) Install the main lugs on the studs of the bus bar. Use the new connector mounting nuts, see illustration in instructions, and torque the nuts to 75 lb-in (8.48 N-m). Install the new interior mounting screw included with the kit and torque to 35 lb-in(3.95 N-m).
NOTE: For QO....RB Series S02 load centers used in 22k A Short Circuit Current Rating systems, install bracket on the base with the 10-32 x 1-1/8 in. long interior mounting screw(See Detail A of the illustration in instructions) and torque to 35 lb-in. (3.95 N-m).
5) If the load center is used as service equipment, apply the 'Service Disconnect' labels, included with the kit, to the load center cover near the service disconnect handles and install the neutral bonding screw, included with the kit, if one is not already installed.
6) If the load center is NOT used as service equipment, discard the neutral bonding screw included with the kit. If a neutral bonding screw is already installed, remove and discard it. Remove "Service Disconnect" or "Main" label if installed near the main circuit breaker opening on the cover.
7) If the Main circuit breaker twistout (or knockout) is removed from the cover, close the opening with the QOM2FP filler plate, order separately. Remove the 5/16 inch knockout in the trim when bracket is used, and secure trim onto the bracket with the trim screw provided in the kit as shown in the detail A of the illustration
NOTE: PLEASE MAKE SURE FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT COME WITH THE KIT AND NEVER WORK ON ENERGIZED EQUIPMENT.
