Can Buck Boost Transformers be used to correct for excessive voltage drop on long feeder lines to loads such as remote pump houses or farm buildings?

Issue:
Buck Boost Transformers used to compensate for long wire run voltage loss

Product Line:
LV Transformers

Environment:
Applies to Buck Boost Tranformers by SquareD/Schneider Electric

Cause:
Voltage loss at the load end of long wire runs

Resolution:

In some cases Buck Boost Transformers can be used to compensate for long line voltage drop. However, this is generally practical only if the load is constant. Large changes in load will cause large changes in line voltage drop. The Buck Boost Transformer is not a voltage regulator, and will provide the same percentage of voltage change regardless of load. In some applications, where the Buck Boost Transformer is chosen to correct for full load line drop, the load voltage may get too high at reduced load because the line drop is less.
WARNING: This application may result in excessive voltage to customer loads, causing load equipment damage!
