How to disable the load shed on an ASCO transfer switch?
The load shed accessory (accessory no. 30XXX) is a factory-mounted option and can be classified as either a contact-driven type or a voltage-driven type. For the contact-driven type, the end-user needs to supply a normally-closed set of contacts to the designated terminals; the opening of which will trigger the load shed response. For the voltage-driven type, the end-user needs to apply the rated load-shed input voltage at the designated terminals; the removal of which will trigger the load shed response. For both cases, the load shed response is to remove the loads away from the emergency source when the TS is connected to the emergency side OR prevent the transferring of loads to the emergency source when the TS is not yet connected to the emergency side.
For some applications the load shed accessory may not be needed. To disable the load shed accessory, the end-user has to permanently apply a closed circuit to the designated terminals for the contact-driven type OR maintain the application of the rated load shed input voltage to the designated terminals for the voltage-driven type. If the foregoing methods are not feasible, one other way is to remove the LDCR relay from the load-shed add-on panel.
The suggested steps are the following:

The suggested steps are the following:
- Completely de-energize the unit.
- Open the door and locate the add-on panel for the load shed accessory. The add-on panel is usually mounted on the inner side of the door.
- Look for the relay labelled LDCR and remove it from its base.
- Close the door back and re-apply power to the unit.
