Where should the speed signal wires connect to the 0-10 VDC analog input in an Econoflex drive?
Issue:
Speed signal wires connection to the 0-10 VDC analog input in an Econoflex drive

Product Line:
Flex58 drives

Environment:
Speed signal wires

Cause:
n/a

Resolution:
If modification J09 is included on the drive, wire the positive wire to S2, negative wire to S3 and the shield to S1.
Without the mod J09 the 0-10 VDC input is normally used for the potentiometer. If that is the case it is recommended that you install a converter to change the 0-10 VDC signal into 4-20 mA.
Or if your system accommodates a 4-20ma or 0-20ma signal output use that instead.  Then connect the positive to S2+, negative to S3 and shield to S1.
Otherwise abandon the use of the speed pot and wire to the COM and AI1 or use a relay to switch the AI1 signal from the potentiometer to the remote 0-10 volt signal.
The part number for the signal converter is 31158-297-50
When using the above kit wire as follows:
**** Identify the DC control terminal configuration.******
If there are eleven terminals:
a. Remove the wire connecting AI2 to terminal block S2 from the wiring
harness.
b. Connect the control wiring removed in Step 1 to the 0-10 Vdc
converter board terminals.
c. Connect the 0-10 V signal wiring to the converter board terminals AI2A (+) and AI2B (-).
d. Insert the converter board pins firmly into the control terminal plug as shown in Figure 2 of bulletin 30072-450-45, and tighten the terminal screws.

If there are twelve terminals:
a. Connect the control wiring removed in Step 1 to the 0-10 Vdc
converter board terminals.
b. Remove the factory installed jumper on the DC terminal blocks fromS2+ and S2-.
c. Add a wire (14 AWG, 1.5 mm2 max.) to the harness from S2- on the terminal block to AI2B on the converter board.
d. Insert the converter board pins firmly into the control terminal plug as shown in Figure 2 of bulletin 30072-450-45, and tighten the terminal screws.
e. Connect the 0-10 V signal wiring to S2+ (+) and S2- (-) on the
terminal block with a max. wire size of 10 AWG (5.26 mm2).
The tightening torque is 7-8 lb-in (0.8-0.9 N-m).
