Attempt to launch the OFS server, returns the following error: Unable to Locate Component O6CLIEN1.dll

Resolution
Attempt to launch the OFS server, returns the following error:

"Ofs.exe - Unable to Locate Component"
The message section of the error says: "
This application has failed to start because O6CLIEN1.dll was not found.

Uninstalling and Re-installing the OFS does not resolve problem."

Causes and Fixes


This is a result of a bad pathname entered into the Microsoft Windows registry for the applicable dll's. Usually, the problem is
due to the prefix foldername (i.e. C:\Program Files\Common Files) being incrorrectly defined.

  • Start the registry editor

WARNING: BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN USING THE REGiSTRY EDITOR IF THESE STEPS ARE NOT FOLLOWED
EXACTLY, YOU MAY INADVERTENTLY DELETE OR MODIFY SOMETHING ELSE WHICH CAN CORRUPT
YOUR WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM.


  • Search the registry

  • Make sure that the following path is entered into the path definition correctly.

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Schneider Electric Shared\SSTA\
  • If the path is incorrect, right click on the name and select 'Modify' to change it.

  • Repeat the search for anymore instances of the path and correct it as needed.


Repeat the above procedure for the following path.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Schneider Electric Shared\SRCSDK\
  • Search the registry
  • Make sure that the following path is entered into the path definition correctly
  • If the path is incorrect, right click on the name and select 'Modify' to change it.
  • Repeat the search for anymore instances of the path and correct it as needed.
