Issue
'Add "Generate Network Diagram" Support' in the Modbus Device Importer does not write to the DeviceInfo registry key, and thus Vista 'auto-diagram' will not work.
Product Line
Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 7.2.x, 8.x, 9.0
StruxureWare Power Monitoring 7.0.x
ION Enterprise
Environment
Modbus Device importer (MDI)
Cause
User running the MDI program does not have permission to write to the registry
Resolution
To correct this problem, either populate the Registry manually (not recommended) or launch MDI as user with permissions to write to the registry and re-run the 'Add "Generate Network Diagram" Support' menu item.
1) Locate the ModbusDeviceImporter in [PME install folder]\system\bin
2) Right click and select "Run as administrator"
Note: In PME 9, Device Type Editor (DTE) is used to add diagram support. The DTE may also need to be run as Administrator
