Issue:
Set the Reference Switching on the Altivar Process Drives

Product Line:
Altivar Process Drives (ATV630, ATV930, ATV650, ATV950, ATV660, ATV960, ATV680, ATV980)

Environment:
All Altivar Process Drives

Cause:
Set up reference switching between two speed references using a digital input to switch between the two.

Resolution:

[Complete settings] -> [Command and Reference]
  1. Press the Home button and go to the main menu.
  2. Using the thumb wheel, scroll down to to menu 5 the Complete Settings menu and press OK
  3. Scroll down to menu 5.5 Command and Reference and press OK
  4. Set your first reference by setting Ref Freq 1 Config to AI1, AI2, AI3, HMI or modbus, choose and press OK.
  5. Scroll down to Ref 1B Switching or Ref 2 Switching and choose the digital input, such as DI3, that will switch between the reference channels.
  6. Scroll down to Ref 1B Config or Ref 2 Config. Set to AI1, AI2, AI3, HMI or Modbus, choose and press OK.
Example:  When digital input DI3 is high, the drive will look at Ref 1B channel input and when digital input DI3 is low, the drive will look at Ref 1 channel.
Ref 1 channel is AI1
Ref 1B Switching is DI3
Ref 1B channel is AI2

When digital input DI3 is high (activated), AI2 is the speed reference input.
When digital input DI3 is low (deactivated), AI1 is the speed reference input.
