Resolution
The behavior of Channel 0 on a BMXNOM0200 is different when used in an ERIO drop than when used in a local rack.
  • When the BMXNOM0200 is used on a local IO rack and Channel 0 is configured for Master mode, either RS232 or RS485 can be selected.
  • When the BMXNOM0200 is used on a local IO rack and Channel 0 is configured for Slave mode, either RS232 or RS485 can be selected.
  • When the BMXNOM0200 is used on an ERIO drop and Channel 0 is configured for Master mode, either RS232 or RS485 can be configured.
  • When the BMXNOM0200 is used on an ERIO drop and Channel 0 is configured for Slave mode, the only selection is RS485.  RS232 cannot be selected.

Note:
  • If RS232 for Slave mode is required with a BMXNOM0200 Channel 0 on an ERIO drop, then it is recommended to use an RS232 to RS485 converter with this port.
  • Channel 1 can only be used in RS485 mode whether in Local IO rack or in ERIO drop
