Explanation of BRC parameter on Altivar ATV340 variable speed drive ? Should we set it to no when using a Regenerative unit?
When regenerative unit ATVRUxx or ATVRDxx is used with Altivar 340, the parameter BRA [dec ramp adaptation] must be set to No.
BCR is a function for enabling braking resistors.
On ATV340 if BRC=YES and BRA=No then the drive will trip in BUFO (brake unit fault) if no braking resistor is connected.
On ATV340 if BRC=No and BRA=No then the drive will brake either to the braking resistor (if used) or via the regen unit, but will not detect the disconnection of the braking resistor.

So in the case of regen unit presence (without braking resistor) set BRC=no.
