Can I perform a dielectric test (hi pot) on a Masterpact MTZ breaker with no concerns?
Issue:
Dielectric testing a Masterpact MTZ with Micrologic X control unit prerequisites
Product Line:
Circuit Breakers
Environment:
Masterpact MTZ with Micrologic X Control Unit
Resolution:
If equipped, disconnect the VPS module by pulling it out to the disconnected position before running a dielectric test on the equipment. The VPS module is installed in the lower part of the Micrologic X control unit. The VPS does not need to be fully removed, just pull it out to the disconnected position. This is an intermediate position where no power is connected (AC inputs and 24 DC output). In this position, the VPS is completely isolated. This position allows you to perform the switchboard dielectric tests without risks.
