Issue
Can the HMIZSBA1 battery be used with the Harmony STO (HMISTO7xx) for data backup?
Product Line
Harmony STO (HMISTO7xx)
Resolution
No, the HMIZSBA1 battery cannot be used with the Harmony STO (HMISTO7xx) for data backup.
The HMIZSBA1 is a button-type battery with the purpose is to replace the battery inside the HMIZSRTC1 battery kit, which is a square plastic housing for the battery that is used to retain the system date and time in the event the power is lost or disconnected of the Harmony STO (HMISTO7xx).
The Harmony STO Color Model User Manual - 09/2020 (Doc Ref: EIO0000002263) in the Accessories table calls it a "Battery for Data Backup", but that is only for the date and time, not for Variable values.
NOTE: For the Harmony ST6, it is different - the HMIZSBA1 is used for both Runtime Clock (RTC) backup and Retentive Variable value backup between power cycles.
