What are the BMENUA0100 Redundancy modes in FW 2.03

Question:

In a Hotstandby configuration, the redundancy mode of the BMENUA0100 (with firmware version 2.03) is displayed as "HOT" on the BMENUA0100 webpage and as "3" in ControlExpert NUA DDT.

However, according to the user manual (PHA83350.05), the REDUNDANCY_MODE variable has two possible values:

  • 0 : NONE
  • 2 : NON-Transparent (“HOT”) redundancy mode
Moreover, in the variable description in controlEexpert, it shows the following values:
  • 0 : NONE
  • 2 : NON-Transparent “Warm” redundancy mode
So which one is correct?

Answer:

The correct values for the BMENUA0100 redundancy mode with firmware version 2.03 are:

  • 0 : NONE

  • 3 : NON-Transparent (“HOT”) redundancy mode

According to the OPC UA specification, the HOT redundancy mode corresponds to a value of 3.

It's important to note that the module’s redundancy mode has been updated from "Warm" to "HOT". The disparity in the documentation and Control Expert DDT description will be rectified shortly.
