Why a SL sub feed lug kit added to an I LINE interior must be equal to or greater that the ampacity of the interior?

Issue:
SL subfeed lug kit for I-Line

Product Line:
I-Line panelboard

Environment:
SL sub feed kit

Cause:
Technical reason for the sub feed lug kit to be be equal to or greater that the ampacity of the interior.

Resolution:
The reason is due to not having an over current protection device between the bus and the wires attached to the SL sub-feed kit. Consider a 1200A I-Line interior and a SL400 sub-feed lug kit. The wires would only be rated at 400A but attached to 1200A with nothing to protect them from overcurrent. A breaker would be different since it is an over current device.
