eFORT will provide a clear picture of the vulnerabilities and main threats that the actual EPES faces in order to develop secure by design technologies, strategies and procedures. Moreover, eFORT will put in place a set of solutions which include among others; (i) asset management developments to strengthen EPES’ infrastructure robustness; (ii) digitalization technologies by means of developing digital twins of interconnected power grids, blockchain for grid resiliency and automated substations 4.0; and (iii) software tools for more secure data management and operational modes that will be integrated into an Intelligent Platform able to gather information from the field components of the smart grids and apply the developed heavy-duty algorithms to address attacks and disruptive events.
Funded by Horizon Europe programme of the European Commission (grant agreement no. 101075665), the project scheduled to be carried out from September 2022 to August 2026 has a budget of €9.3M.
