What are green information technologies?
Green information technologies, also known as green IT, is a concept that covers the use of computers, systems, software and other similar technology components while at the same time keeping in mind the ecological footprint of each device and system. These principles encompass energy use optimization and its reduction. Applying this approach results in reduced carbon emissions.

One of the examples of green IT is the measurement and management of the energy and carbon footprint in data centers, server rooms, or IT systems. Another important aspect is related to recycling and proper management of waste.

What is a green IT strategy?
A green IT strategy is a set of sustainable practices that encompass the lifecycle of an IT product, solution, or service and aim to minimize their environmental impact. This can be achieved by promoting resource efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

Green IT strategies focus on incorporating energy-efficient equipment including servers, storage devices, or networking equipment. These strategies can also emphasize the importance of proper management of electronic waste in the form of recycling or disposal of IT equipment that is no longer operational.
