Import report subscriptions failed during the restore process of SBS upgrade utility

Goals and Symptoms

When running the restore option of the SBS upgrade utility on the new server , the process fails on import report subscriptions and the log may say something like
<RunImportExportUtility
Library="WinUtilities"
Class="SchneiderElectric.Installer.InstallTools.WinUtilities">
<cmd>"@globalProgramFileFolder/@\system\bin\ImportSubscriptions.exe"</cmd>
<args>"@globalGenericFileDestination/@\IONSubscriptionData.xml" -silent</args>
</RunImportExportUtility

Causes and Fixes

There are 2 ways to fix this error.
1. Delete the importsubscriptions.exe, exportsubscriptions.exe and IONsubscriptionhelper.dll file from the system/bin folder. Then rerun the import report subscriptions part of the upgrade utility. There is an option to just import report subscriptions in the tool. The best option is to choose the resume option on the tool. This allows other steps that are left to be run by the tool, otherwise you may need to do them manually.

If this doesn't work, try the other step.

2) Run the importsubscriptions.exe file from system/bin. First move the IONdatasubscriptions.xml file that is backed up during the backup to the system/bin folder. Then run the file. The import may be successful.

There might be some cases when these two resolutions may not work. In that case it is best to escalate the issue with the full install log as to why the error occurred.
