ION Meters: DST settings cannot go beyond 03:14:07 UTC on 19 January 2038
Issue
Need to program the daylight saving timing but cannot go beyond January 19 2038.

Product Line
ION meters

Environment
ION Setup v3.0

Cause
The Year 2038 problem relates to representing time in many digital systems as the number of seconds passed since 1 January 1970 and storing it as a signed 32-bit binary integer. Such implementations cannot encode times after 03:14:07 UTC on 19 January 2038.  Therefore, a problem will arise while configuring DST schedule for the ION meters with the start year 2019 and end year 2038, the user will not be able to set the start and end dates beyond 03:14:07 UTC on 19 January 2038.

Resolution
As of now, the only solution is to use an updated version of ION Setup software. The latest version of ION Setup can be downloaded from the following link FA212816

Once the user has the latest ION Setup installed,  it will allow configuring DST schedule for ION meters beyond 03:14:07 UTC on 19 January 2038.
  1. Go to Setup Assistant-->Clock Settings-->Timezone (click edit)--> Check "Update daylight saving dates starting" and select 2019, click OK
  2. Now check the DST settings tab for schedule. Schedule now starts from 2019 and ends in 2038
  3. If there are no overlaps user will be able to save changes else check for overlaps in the schedule
  4. Once overlaps are removed/edited, changes can be saved successfully
