How to use the TRB142 Teltonika modem with the Modicon M241/251 and M262 Controllers in EcoStruxure Machine Expert?
  1. Modem configuration
First of all, it is strongly recommended to go to Teltonika website and retrieve the latest FW version of the TRB142 Teltonika.

Connect the TRB142 modem to your PC thanks to the USB cable supplied with the modem.
Use the Quick Start Guide available with the modem TRB142 to change configuration of modem.

To enter the gateway's Web interface, type http://192.168.2.1 into the URL field of your Internet browser.

Use this Login information:
  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin01

Go to Services >> Serial Utilities >> Modem Control:

Teltonika_newFW

From this page, Add a New Instance with the same communication settings as defined in the controller application:

Teltonika_newFW_2_M221
=> Click “Save & Apply

Note: Mode has to be set on Full Control. In this mode, the TRB142 modem is completely started when the 2G,3G,4G LEDs are blinking and all signal LEDs are OFF.

Select Generic Modem and add the following init command:

  1. Function Blocks configuration

How to send a SMS?

To be able to send a SMS, you have to use the Function Block SendSMS and put the phone number between “” as input of the phoneNbpin:

How to receive a SMS?

To be able to receive a SMS, you have to use the Function Block ReceiveSMS and wait for new message. As the parameter CNMI has been set to 2,2,0,0,0 in the init command, a new message will be directly forwarded to the controller.

When executing the function block, it will stay in Busy state until receiving a message as the timeout has been set to 0 (infinite).
