Moving sustainability forward in manufacturing

Find out how the manufacturing sector is directly and indirectly contributing to solving environmental challenges.

Moving sustainability forward in manufacturing

The manufacturing sector has become the largest contributor to environmental challenges. Findings from our recent survey with Omdia showed the drive for sustainable business practices has brought pledges and commitments from many leading industrial companies, including:
  • 66% that have set science-based targets
  • 62% that have set carbon neutral targets
  • 36% with RE100 pledges

But how are these sustainability efforts being implemented? The survey data shows that the responsibility primarily falls on the c-suite, with initiatives spread relatively evenly across design, operations, maintenance, and supply chain business functions. These cross-function initiatives are crucial to meeting sustainability targets and pledges for the manufacturing sector.
