Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has re-joined the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBSA), a move that confirms the company’s commitment to promoting and enabling sustainable practices in the local building industry.
The GBSA is one 75 members of the World Green Building Council and operates across the commercial, residential, and public sectors to ensure that buildings and homes are designed, built, and operated in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Schneider Electric’s membership also comes shortly after the release of the research paper
Decarbonize the office: Unleash the power of digital solutions for building renovation which shows that digital and electric solutions can cut carbon emissions in office buildings by up to 70%. The research, conducted in partnership with WSP, also finds that retrofitting buildings using a digital-first approach is best pathway to decarbonisation.
