Description
SCF3 - Ground Short Circuit Fault
Earth fault at the output

Possible causes
  • Short circuit or earth fault at the inverter output.
  • Short circuit on a motor with long cables.
  • Insulation fault in the motor or in the cables.
Remedies
  • Perform Diagnostic Test
    • IGBT or Transistor Test
  • Check the cables connecting the drive to the motor and the motor insulation.
    • Megger motor from cables. Use at least 1000v
    • Check for proper grounding
  • Check distance between drive and motor
    • Over 165 ft may require the use of a load reactor or filter
  • Check Switching Frequency
    • Lower it if possible
