What is the maximum length of modular cabling (VX001) that can be used in an arc flash protection system?
Issue:
maximum modular cabling length to be used
Environment:
VAMP 321 arc flash system
Resolution:
There are three scenarios:
1- Small system with only one controller device (VAMP321) and four or less I/O units (external power supply is not required):
2- Large system, single branch with only one controller device (VAMP 321) and more than four I/O units (with external supply):
3- Large system, two branches with one or more controller devices (VAMP321) and more than four I/O units (with external supply):

Environment:
VAMP 321 arc flash system
Resolution:
There are three scenarios:
1- Small system with only one controller device (VAMP321) and four or less I/O units (external power supply is not required):
- Maximum 30 meter of modular cabling (VX001) including all cabling from the beginning to end of the bus to be used.
- Maximum 30 meters of modular (VX001) cable can be used between two individual units.
2- Large system, single branch with only one controller device (VAMP 321) and more than four I/O units (with external supply):
- Maximum 100 meter of modular cabling (VX001), including all cabling from the beginning to end of the bus
- Maximum 30 meter of modular (VX001) cable can be used between two individual unit.
3- Large system, two branches with one or more controller devices (VAMP321) and more than four I/O units (with external supply):
- Maximum 100 meter of modular cabling (VX001), including all cabling in both branches from the beginning to end of the bus.
- Maximum 30 meter of modular (VX001) cable can be used between two individual unit.
