Job Description

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Datacenter Software Services Manager supporting our Secure Power Division.

 

Location:  Remote within the U.S.

What will you do?

The Secure Power team is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the crucial role of Datacenter Software Services Manager. This key position involves overseeing the datacenter software services team, ensuring seamless operations and execution to support our Software Sales team. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing a dedicated team responsible for quoting, managing, scheduling and executing datacenter software services.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key customers (internal and external) and actively engaging in significant and strategic opportunities.
  • Providing valuable feedback to the software line of business to drive offer evolution and address customer needs effectively.
  • Overseeing the resolution and escalation process for unsuccessful customer engagements and product issues, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Cultivating a high-performance culture with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and success.
  • Taking charge of team operations P&L, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Providing support for team members in areas such as compensation, merit, professional development, and career planning.
  • Collaborating closely with various teams including Line of Business, Finance, Sales, and Operations to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of goals.
  • Managing third-party contractors for contract and performance management, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Networking with other Schneider Electric software teams to enhance support for datacenter customers through a wide range of Schneider software platforms.
  • Contributing to investment strategies that drive software growth and development.

This role will involve approximately 10-20 percent travel within the North America region and will report directly to the Program Director for Systems Engineering and Software Services. The compensation plan will primarily be based on Core DCIM software sales performance.

 

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A master's degree or MBA may be preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience: Significant experience (typically 8-10 years) in software services, data center operations, or related fields, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team, drive high performance, and foster a customer-first mindset.
  • Customer Engagement: Proven experience in engaging with key customers, understanding their needs, and building strong relationships to drive customer success.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to provide strategic input, contribute to offer evolution, and align software services with customer needs.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial management, including managing team operations P&L and contributing to investment strategies for software growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with various teams such as Line of Business, Finance, Sales, and Operations, demonstrating strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of data center operations, software services, and the broader software solutions landscape, with a focus on Schneider Electric offerings.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel approximately 10-20 percent within the North America region.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management, leadership, or software services management may be advantageous.
