Bid & Proposal Engineer - Process Automation
Job Description
We are looking for a Bid & Proposal Engineer for our Process Automation division based in Baarn. Your scope will include preparing costing proposals for Industrial & Process Automation Installed Base and Brownfield Competitive Migration projects within an assigned territory to meet customer requirements & timescales.
Responsibilitites:
- Manages and leads an opportunity and is responsible for the overall bid submission (technical & commercial)
- Supports the development of assigned opportunities and manages the tender responses as required following the Tender Process
- Supports the development of the win strategy and value proposition
- Prepares the technical and commercial content e.g estimates, technical & commercial clarifications and deviations
- Supports supply chain with the creation and follow-up of requests to third-party suppliers
- Manages the proposal schedule for the opportunity and allocation of responsibilities to the bid team, in line with Tender governance procedures, ensuring the bid team are on target throughout.
- Manages the Risk Management Process and supports the Commercial Review Process (Contracts & Approvals) to prepare and submit the tender, including soliciting input from contracts and legal teams
- Facilitates technical reviews in accordance with customer expectations of solution offering
- Active support of the sales team and alignment of the offer price
- Adherence to approval procedures in accordance with the valid procedure.
- Ensures timely submission of tender to customer office/portal
- Supports customer meetings as needed.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- 5-8 years experience in a Tendering role plus another engineering specialism
- Strong command of the Dutch language is preferrable.
- Competitive ‘Hunter’ mindset
- Broad knowledge of the automation products & solutions portfolio
- Understands overall industry market dynamics, competitive challenges, and Schneider’s differentiated value
- Basic understanding of commercial contracts
- Able to identify, analyse and propose constructive solutions
- Strong organisational and planning skills - able to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines
- Excellent stakeholder management skills / working in a matrix
- Strong communication skills: high quality written & oral offers to customers
- Degree or higher education qualifications in an engineering / business subject
- Microsoft Office skills - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio
