Job Description

IT Solution Architect

Join our Solution Engineering team as part of the Global Tendering team and help us sell the Grid Operations solution portfolio (ADMS, DERMS, AGMS, etc.) to utilities worldwide.

The primary role of the IT Solution Architect is to use product and industry experience to act as an architecture and infrastructure technical point of contact in the tendering stage of the sales process. The primary focus is to understand customer requirements, as well as regional and global standards in the field, based on them, to propose a solution architecture that fits into the optimized IT infrastructure environment.

Key responsibilities:

During tendering activities should understand customer requirements and commercial aspects in order to:

  • Propose system architecture design for Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  • Estimate infrastructure system sizing based on proposed architecture design.
  • Provide proper technical responses related to the architecture, IT infrastructure, and dependent 3rd party solutions.
  • Participate in technical meetings (remote or on-site) with potential customers during the tendering process.
  • Closely work with the tendering team during tendering process by helping to define and enable the defined winning strategy.
  • Closely work with colleagues from other sectors in gathering necessary inputs or resolving doubts related to architecture and solution deployment.
  • Participate in developing future architectures based on emerging standards and regulations.

 

Qualifications/experience:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and industrial control systems.
    • Knowledge of IEC 62443 standard suite and Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture (PERA).
    • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server, MS SQL Server, and other 3rd party SW and HW solutions like backup solutions, network devices, etc.
    • Knowledge of Virtualization (Hyper-V or VMWare).
    • Basic knowledge of IT project delivery life cycle.
    • Knowledge of the Azure Cloud platform and Microsoft certificates (e.g., az900, az104, az305) will be considered as a plus.
    • Basic knowledge of electrical network concepts would be considered as a plus.

 

Required skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English (other languages such as Spanish, German, or French would be treated as an advantage).
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to constantly improve technical and soft skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Visio.
