We are recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel BeNe to join our Global Legal Team in Belgium or in the Netherlands.
You will be responsible for providing legal and compliance support to our Benelux operations. What is your role?
You will be responsible for delivery of legal, regulatory and compliance services. You will operate as a key business partner to provide strategic support and advice, working on a wide range of commercial and compliance matters. Your tasks would include:
- Preparing and reviewing contracts and terms and conditions, supporting negotiations
- Preparing templates
- Providing claims support and overseeing litigations
- Helping to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Group policies
- Providing training and facilitating our compliance programs
- Other local legal support as reasonably required by Legal Management.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
We are looking for someone who is comfortable with working in a digital environment, feels strongly about social justice and sustainability. Someone who wants to work in an international company and has a proven track record operating in an inhouse environment. Our future colleague must be able to work proactively and closely with the business stakeholders, to identify and analyse critical business issues, and to apply legal expertise to deliver solutions. You should have excellent legal and communication skills and be:
- A fully qualified lawyer authorized to practice in the Netherlands or Belgium with a Master of Laws degree or equivalent and at least 5-7 years' relevant PQE in commercial law, preferably in a Hi-tech, Oil & Energy, Construction or Renewables & Environment sector
- Fluent in English and Dutch (written and verbal) and/or French (written and verbal) with great technological skills
- Confident with fantastic interpersonal skills, commercially minded, highly organized and able to work effectively in teams
- Able to work independently and manage large volumes of work
